Thirty-seven years have passed and the Institute has grown. The buildings that were constructed at the Institute's inception are now in need of major repairs and reconstruction. The Institute can accommodate 45 inmates, and additional cottages have to be put up so that more people can be housed.

Our inmates are accommodated in cottages designed to blend with the rural atmosphere. The design of these cottages is simple: a large open area for the inmate’s beds and cupboards, toilets cum bathing rooms and a small veranda. The roofs of all the dormitories and community hall are asbestos and will be changed at a later date as the cost of doing so is very high.

The present cottages housing our mentally challenged inmates were put up in 1979. Over the years we've kept repairing and rebuilding them. Most of the cottages have been renovated/reconstructed. Now three cottages one of which is the senior women's dormitory, staff quarters and the storeroom remain to be repaired/ built.

The need is urgent and any contribution will be of help. Know more by visting this page. Thank you!
